Hurricane Ida did it to us again
People in New Orleans love our homes, our environment, our ambience and that is why we returned, rebuilt and recovered after Hurricane. Now we have another challenge; Hurricane Ida put the entire city in the dark and gave us serious wind damage. So for me-deja vu is my name. I had eight feet of water in my home for Hurricane Katrina and it totally destroyed my home. I wrote a book titled "Katrina Made Me Write it". It is an ebook on Amazon Kindle:
Katrina was devastating and my son and my sister traveled together from New Orleans to Natchez, Mississippi and then to Birmingham, Alabama. In Birmingham, we received FEMA assistant for a hotel in Bessemer, Alabama. We stayed there for 8 weeks and in October I rented a home in Birmingham. My sister and my son were with me. We stayed in Birmingham until May, 2006 when we returned to FEMA trailers in my front yard in New Orleans. I was trying to get my house rebuilt so I came home trying to put pressure on the contractor.
Now I am back in the same predicament
